Consistency; Pearls and Perils.

Consistency is king. Consistency is Queen. Consistency is lineage; it is Royalty in a world of absent minded peasantry. To be consistent is to be disciplined. It is a symbol of reliability. The soldiers and servants to the throne are consistent. The concrete in the walls of the castle are consistent — they do not crumble and fall away merely because they stand and support as intended.

Consistency is to be understood. This is necessary for the existence of people, it creates the foundations of trust upon which our lives are built. The secret of consistency is that it maintains order — whether it be in the personal conquest of one’s goals or one’s maintenance of social relationships.

Consistency is a routine. Routines are natural. They are predictable and maintainable. However, at times our surroundings become outdated, archaic. They nervously stumble backwards, rather than trump forwards. Suboptimalities arise. Cracks form and leaks occur — whether it be in productivity, callousness, a lack of empathy, a quitters’ mindset, or lethargy. Consistent suboptimalism is a very real consequence.

For all it’s merits, Consistency is the King. However, one should never bet blindly while the Ace remains in the deck. To be able to break out of the rut, change course, level up — one must also possess Drive; to steer the Consistency — out of the realm of remaining consistently mediocre. Drive is acceleration. Drive is sporadic. Drive is intense.

The most energy consuming part of using the car is turning on the engine, once the engine is on then the vehicle is consistently in motion and easy to continue operating. But where to drive to?
